# Set how many products per row Depict's collection grid shows

> Writes `[desktop_columns, mobile_columns]` to the shop metafield `$app:column-settings.column_settings` (creating its definition on first use), which Depict's theme templates read on the storefront. Side effects: a Shopify write that is live on the storefront at once, and a `colums_settings_updated` analytics event. Returns JSON `null`.
