# Introduction to Depict Performance Client

> Use our Depict Performance Client SDKs to track and monitor user behavior on your store.

**Depict Performance Client** (**DPC**) is a tool used to track and measure the effectiveness of product discovery in your store. The DPC SDK handles performance tracking to enable Depict to gain insights into the performance of product recommendations and search results.

Click and purchase events help Depict measure product performance and improve
recommendations. Card impressions also require visibility tracking in your
storefront integration.

## How it works

DPC finds product cards through their tracking data attributes. It sends
click events with the result ID from each card. Search cards use
`data-search-result-id`. Listing cards use `data-product-listing-result-id`.
Recommendation cards use `data-recommendation-id`.

For cards you render yourself, check impression tracking separately. A click
attribute alone does not confirm that visibility events are sent. Follow
[Product card impressions](/api-guide/tracking/product-cards#product-card-impressions)
to send and verify these events.

Similarly, DPC searches for elements with the `depict-add-to-cart` class and tracks click interactions on these elements. This let Depict track whenever a product is added to the cart.

## Implementation path

1. Follow the [tracking guide](/api-guide/tracking/introduction) to install the DPC library on your store.
2. Verify card impressions and clicks in the [tracking guide](/api-guide/tracking/product-cards).
3. View recommendations performance on the [Depict Portal](https://app.depict.ai/).
