# Multi-store

> Connect several Shopify stores and replicate merchandising between them.

If you run multiple Shopify stores (for example one per region), multi-store
keeps their merchandising in sync.

## Connecting stores

Every store gets a **multi-store activation code** (format
`ABCD-EFGH-IJKL-MNOP`) when the app is installed. Enter another store's code
to connect them into a **multi-store group**. Stores can be disconnected from
the group at any time.

## Collection mappings

Collections across stores are linked under shared **group collections**:

* Depict can auto-create mappings by matching collections with the same
  Shopify **handle** across stores.
* You can also connect or disconnect mappings manually.
* Per collection, the app shows which sibling-store collections are linked
  and will receive replicated changes.

## What replicates

When you edit a mapped collection's main version in one store, the changes
replicate to the linked collections in the other stores:

* Pinned products — matched across stores by **SKU**
* Sort order
* Boost & bury rules — collection rules are remapped to the sibling store's
  equivalent collections
* The unpin-out-of-stock setting
* Collection activation and deactivation

<Note>
  Replication relies on consistent SKUs and collection handles across your
  stores. If products or collections can't be matched, those parts of the
  configuration are skipped for that store.
