How it works

  1. Install the app from the Shopify App Store. Depict ingests your catalog and 30 days of purchase history, and sets up its collection template in your theme — see Onboarding.
  2. Activate collections you want Depict to manage. How many you can activate depends on your plan.
  3. Merchandise: choose a sort order, pin key products, add boost/bury rules and content cards.
  4. Publish: the computed order is synced back into the Shopify collection itself, so it works with any theme and every sales channel.

Building a headless storefront or native app?

Everything Supergrid produces — the product order, content cards, image settings and product duplicates — is readable through Shopify’s own APIs; there is no Depict API in the storefront read path. For your developers: the integration guide documents the data model and the queries, and the grid rendering spec specifies the grid layout algorithm for implementations that must match the web storefront exactly.
